Overview & Highlights

Nestled right on the scenic waterfront of Point Arena, Cove Coffee is much more than your average coffee shop—it’s a vibrant community hub where exceptional coffee, delicious organic fare, and coastal charm seamlessly blend. Located at 790 Port Rd, this cozy spot has earned rave reviews from locals and travelers alike, quickly becoming a must-visit stop along California’s Highway 1.

At Cove Coffee, the menu is thoughtfully curated to delight every coffee enthusiast and breakfast lover. From classic preparations like smooth Drip Coffee and rich Americanos to creamy, frothy masterpieces such as the Cappuccino and the indulgent Mocha, every cup is crafted to perfection. For those seeking something a little different, their White Molha and unique Obama blends offer a distinctive taste experience, while non-coffee options like Matcha Latte, Mate Latte, and Teeccino provide flavorful alternatives. When paired with their warm and inviting dining atmosphere—enhanced by ocean views and gentle sea breezes—each sip becomes a comforting embrace.

The food reflects the same passion for quality and local sourcing. Patrons rave about the organically made bagels, topped with vibrant, fresh ingredients. The "Big Wave" sandwich, a toasted bagel layered with hand-sliced turkey, creamy avocado, melted cheese, and savory mayo, is a standout favorite for lunch, perfectly suited for the foggy coastal days. Equally beloved are the savory hand pies, especially the wild mushroom variety, boasting flaky, crispy crusts that add a satisfying texture to every bite. Complementing these savory treats are sweet delights like their famed apple fritters and fresh fruit smoothies, grounding the menu in wholesome, organic goodness.

What truly sets Cove Coffee apart is the welcoming and quirky atmosphere. Combining a café with a bait and tackle shop and a small gift boutique, it offers a unique blend of coastal culture and hospitality. Regulars and visitors feel right at home chatting with Nate and the friendly staff, who bring genuine warmth and personality to every interaction. The café’s eclectic art, charming historic building, and the breathtaking ocean backdrop create an inviting space where you can linger over your coffee, admire the view, and even pick up local gifts like shirts and beanies.

Visitors also appreciate Cove Coffee’s thoughtful amenities, including hot showers for campers, making it a perfect rest stop during coastal adventures. And for those feeling adventurous, a refreshing cold plunge off the nearby pier is just steps away, adding to the memorable experience.

Whether you're fueling up for a day of exploring the stunning Point Arena region or simply seeking a cozy spot to unwind with impeccable coffee and food, Cove Coffee promises an authentic, heartwarming experience that resonates long after your visit. As customer Justin Brannon enthusiastically puts it, “Cove Coffee is the best place to stop for breakfast on all of highway 1.”

Cove Coffee is the best place to stop for breakfast on all of highway 1. Hot showers for campers, great bagels, amazing coffee, and if your ventures... a nice cold plunge off of the pier!! A must go! Go see Nate!

Such a wonderful experience!!! Most things are organic, I had a locally made onion bagel with pesto, hummus, avocado, tomato and egg and it was the best thing ever!!! All organic fruit smoothies and coffee. Staff was great, so pleasant and what a treat to be on the water to have a lovely breakfast. Best breakfast sandwich I've had!!

Great little coffee place just north of Gualala. Came here for the Wifi originally, but it has a very cozy vibe and doubles as a small gift shop - picked up a shirt and beanie before we left!

Stopped in here for lunch and coffee this past Saturday while camping in Manchester. This place is super fun and quirky, combining a cafe environment with a bait/tackle and gift shop. For lunch I got the "Big Wave" which is a toasted bagel with mayo, hand sliced turkey, avocado and melted cheese served open faced. It super delicious, and perfect for an overcast/foggy day. For coffee I got a cappuccino, which expertly hand crafted, and made even better by the fact that they use locally roasted coffee from The Little Green Bean right there in Point Arena. I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out here, and seeing the locals come in about there day. The people working there were super friendly, and courteous! I will definitely come back here on my next trip up the coast!

Nate is super-friendly and wow! From the apple fritters to the savory mushroom hand pie, everything was so flavorful!! The crust in the hand pie was so flaky, crispy - one of the best I have ever had (especially with the sweet chili sauce!). Go and go often!! Coffee and view is great, too!! Didn’t want to leave!

Friendly service, yummy fast or lunch and good coffee. Definitely work a so on your way into Point Arena

Awesome staff… incredible sandwiches. Excellent morning view and the coffee is amazing !! Had fun chatting with the locals here. Highly recommend.

Please don't let this place pass by. The handmade savory hand pie, my fav filled with wild locally sourced mushroom - is a filling meal. Makes me smack my lips with joy and dream of returning - soon! Fabulous old building, terrific art, kind and friendly staff and you have a recipe for wonderful! The views of the ocean are spectacular. Eat inside or out - plus they have everything one could need from food to clothes, bait, lures, wax for surf boards and gifts. Very kid friendly, safe and a fun vibe all around.
